1. What is a high-speed motor?
High-speed motors generally refer to motors with a speed exceeding 10000 r /min. High-speed motors are small in size, can be directly connected to high-speed loads, eliminate the traditional mechanical speed increasing device, reduce system noise, and improve system transmission efficiency. Currently, the main types of high-speed motors that have been successfully implemented are induction motors, permanent magnet motors, and switched reluctance motors.
The main characteristics of high-speed motors are high rotor speed, high stator winding current and magnetic flux frequency in the iron core, and high power and loss density. These characteristics determine that high-speed motors have unique key technologies and design methods different from ordinary speed motors, and the design and manufacturing difficulty is often many times greater than that of ordinary speed motors.
Application areas of high-speed motors:
(1) High-speed motors are used in various applications such as centrifugal compressors in air conditioners or refrigerators.
(2) With the development of hybrid vehicles in the automotive industry, small size and lightweight high-speed motors will be fully valued and have good application prospects in hybrid vehicles, aviation, ships, and other fields.
(3) High-speed generators driven by gas turbines are small in size and have high mobility. They can be used as backup power sources for some important facilities, or as independent power sources or small power stations, to make up for the shortcomings of centralized power supply and have important practical value.
Key technologies of high-speed motors
