Cement is classified according to its use and performance:
(1) General-purpose cement: Cement commonly used in general civil engineering construction. General-purpose cements mainly refer to the six major types of cement specified in GB175-2007, namely: Portland cement, ordinary Portland cement, slag Portland cement, pozzolanic Portland cement, fly ash Portland cement, and composite Portland cement.
(2) Special cement: Cement with special properties or uses, such as G-grade oil well cement, rapid-hardening Portland cement, road Portland cement, aluminate cement, sulfoaluminate cement, etc.
Cement is classified according to the name of its main hydraulic material:
(1) Silicate cement, commonly known abroad as Portland cement;
(2) Aluminate cement;
(3) Sulfoaluminate cement;
(4) Ferrite cement;
(5) Fluoroaluminate cement;
(6) Phosphate cement;
(7) Cement with volcanic ash or latent hydraulic materials and other active materials as the main components.
Cement is classified according to its main technical characteristics:
(1) Rapid hardening (hydraulic): divided into rapid hardening and ultra-rapid hardening;
(2) Heat of hydration: divided into moderate heat and low heat;
(3) Sulfate resistance: divided into moderate sulfate corrosion resistance and high sulfate corrosion resistance;
(4) Expansibility: divided into expansive and self-stressing;
(5) High-temperature resistance: The high-temperature resistance of aluminate cement is graded according to the alumina content in the cement.
